Volume 4 · Page 61312

Translation · EN

"And He who created the pairs, all of them." The interpretation of Al-Hasan is: meaning winter and summer, night and day, heaven and earth, and everything that exists in a pair, such that each of the two is a mate (zawj). Muhammad said: It is also said that the meaning of 'al-azwaj' (the pairs) is 'al-asnaf' (the types). You say: 'I have from every pair,' meaning: from every type.

"And He made for you," meaning: He created for you, "of ships and animals that which you ride."
