"So leave them to engage in their vain discourse and amuse themselves," for I have established the proof against them, "until they meet their Day which they are promised," meaning the Day of Resurrection. This was before he was commanded to fight them.
﴿فَذَرْهُمْ يَخُوضُوا وَيَلْعَبُوا﴾ فقد أَقمت عَلَيْهِم الْحجَّة ﴿حَتَّى يُلَاقُوا يَوْمَهُمُ الَّذِي يُوعَدُونَ﴾ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَة، وَهَذَا قبل أَن يُؤمر بقتالهم.
