Translation · EN

[Then he persists] in what he is upon, [arrogant] toward the worship of Allah, [as if he had not heard them]—meaning: the verses of Allah. That is to say: rather, he indeed heard them, and the proof has been established against him through them.

﴿ثمَّ يصر﴾ على مَا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ ﴿مُسْتَكْبِرًا﴾ عَن عبَادَة الله ﴿كَأَنْ لَمْ يسْمعهَا﴾ يَعْنِي: آيَات الله، أَي بلَى قد سَمعهَا، وقامتْ عَلَيْهِ الحجَّةُ بهَا.
