"And the worldly life deluded you," for you did not acknowledge the Resurrection. "So this Day they will not be brought out from it," meaning: from the Fire, "nor will they be asked to make amends," meaning: they will not be asked to seek satisfaction so that they might be absolved; that is: so that they might believe.
﴿وغرتكم الْحَيَاة الدُّنْيَا﴾ كُنْتُم لَا تقرون بِالْبَعْثِ ﴿فَالْيَوْمَ لَا يخرجُون مِنْهَا﴾ من النَّار ﴿وَلا هُمْ يُسْتَعْتَبُونَ﴾ أَي: لَا يستعتبوا ليُعْتَبُوا؛ أَي: ليؤمنوا.
