His saying: "Verily, We have given you a manifest victory" up to His saying: "a straight path".
Yahya [narrated] from Qatadah, from Anas ibn Malik: "This verse was revealed to the Prophet (peace be upon him) upon his return from al-Hudaybiyyah, while his companions were overcome with sadness and distress, for they had been prevented from their rites and had slaughtered their sacrificial animals at al-Hudaybiyyah. He said: 'There has been revealed to me a verse that is dearer to me than the entire world!' When he recited it to them, a man from the people said: 'Pleasant and agreeable to you, O Messenger of Allah! Allah has clarified what He will do with you, but what will He do with us?' So Allah revealed: 'That He may admit the believing men and the believing women' up to His saying: 'a great triumph'."
قَوْله: ﴿إِنَّا فَتَحْنَا لَكَ فَتْحًا مُبينًا﴾ إِلَى قَوْله: ﴿مُسْتَقِيمًا﴾.
يَحْيَى: عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ " أَنَّ هَذِهِ الآيَةَ نَزَلَتْ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ عَن مَرْجِعِهِ مِنَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ، وَأَصْحَابِهِ مُخَالِطُو الْحُزْنَ وَالْكَآبَةِ، قَدْ حِيلَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ مَنَاسِكِهِمْ وَنَحَرُوا الْهَدْيَ بِالْحُدَيْبِيَةِ. فَقَالَ: لَقَدْ نَزَلَتْ عَلَيَّ آيَةٌ لَهِيَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا جَمِيعًا! فَلَمَّا تَلاهَا عَلَيْهِمْ، قَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ: هَنِيئًا مَرِيئًا لَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، قَدْ بَيَّنَ اللَّهُ لَنَا مَا يَفْعَلُ بِكَ، فَمَاذَا يَفْعَلُ بِنَا؟ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ: ﴿لِيُدْخِلَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ﴾ إِلَى قَوْله: ﴿فوزا عَظِيما﴾.
