Muhammad said: Regarding His saying: "We have opened to you a manifest victory," it is said: The meaning is: We have decreed for you the manifestation of the religion of Islam and victory over your enemy, and We have judged that for you. A judge (qadi) is called 'al-fattah' (the opener/decider). Al-Hudaybiyyah is the name of a well, and the place is named after it.
قَالَ محمدٌ: قَوْله: ﴿فَتَحْنَا لَكَ فتحا مُبينًا﴾ قبل: الْمَعْنى: قضينا لَك بِإِظْهَار دين الْإِسْلَام والنصرة على عَدوك، وحكمنا لَك بذلك، وَيُقَال للْقَاضِي: الفتاح، وَالْحُدَيْبِيَة اسمُ بِئْر يُسَمَّى بِهِ الْمَكَان.
