Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin
Volume 4 · Page 90620

Translation · EN

‘Allah has promised you many spoils which you will take.’

‘And He withheld the hands of the people from you,’ and they are Asad and Ghatafan who were at Khaybar. Allah had promised His Prophet Khaybar, so the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) commanded that they direct their banners toward Ghatafan and Asad when they intended that, so Allah cast terror into their hearts, and they fled in the middle of the night. This is His saying: ‘And He withheld the hands of the people from you’ until the end of the verse. This is the interpretation of al-Kalbi.
