Muhammad said: It has been narrated from Ibn Abbas that he said: It is a green mountain made of emerald, and the greenness of the sky is from it. Qutrub mentioned that the recitation of Al-Hasan is "Qaf" with sukun (vocalic silence).
Yahya said: Some recite "Qafi" (genitive) with "Wal-Qur'ani al-Majid" (and the Glorious Quran); they treat it as an oath. The meaning of "al-Majid" is: the one honorable to Allah. Those who read it with sukun make the oath to be in the phrase "Wal-Qur'ani al-Majid".
Al-Hasan said: The oath pertains to the astonishment of the polytheists at what Muhammad brought.
