"The people of Noah denied before them," before your day, O Muhammad, "and the companions of the Ar-Rass." The Ar-Rass is a well which had a people (fol. 335) dwelling by it, so they were named after it.
﴿كذبت قبلهم﴾ قبل يَوْمك يَا محمدُ ﴿قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَأَصْحَابُ الرس﴾ الرس: بِئْر كَانَ (ل ٣٣٥) عَلَيْهَا قوم فنسبوا إِلَيْهَا.
