Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin
Volume 4 · Page 96318

Translation · EN

[Not a word does he utter, but there is a watcher by him, ready (to record)], meaning: a keeper, present, recording everything he utters.

Muhammad said: Regarding [Sitting], he intended one sitting on each side, but sufficed with mentioning one since it serves as evidence for the other. "Qa'id" (sitting) is in the meaning of "Qa'id" (one who sits), just as one says: "Qadir" (All-Powerful) and "Qadir" (Capable).
