"And every soul will come, with it a driver and a witness." A driver who drives it toward Paradise or the Fire, and a witness who testifies against it regarding its deeds. Some interpret this as the angel who recorded its deeds in the world, who is a witness against it regarding its actions.
﴿وَجَاءَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَعَهَا سَائِقٌ وشهيد﴾ سائق يَسُوقهَا إِلَى الْجنَّة أَو النَّار، وَشَاهد يشْهد عَلَيْهَا بعملها، وَتَفْسِير بَعضهم: هُوَ ملكه الَّذِي كتب عمله فِي الدُّنْيَا هُوَ شَاهد عَلَيْهِ بِعَمَلِهِ.
