"If you both restrain me, O son of Marwan, I shall be restrained, and if you both leave me, I shall protect a forbidden honor."
Ibn Abbas mentioned regarding His saying: "Then say, 'Go, you both'" that it refers to Moses alone. Ibn Abbas said: And His saying: "Throw into Hell" is of this same nature.
(فَإِنْ تَزْجُراني يَا ابْنَ مَرْوَان أَزْدَجِرْ … وإنْ تَدَعَانِي أَحْمِ عِرْضًا ممنعا)
وَجَاء ابْن عَبَّاس فِي قَوْله: ﴿فَقُلْنَا اذْهَبَا﴾ قَالَ: يُرِيد مُوسَى وَحده. قَالَ ابْن عَبَّاس: وَقَوله: ﴿أَلْقِيَا فِي جَهَنَّم﴾ هُوَ من هَذَا.
