Translation · EN

"(The Day) when We shall say to Hell: Are you filled? And it will say: Are there any more?" Mujahid's interpretation: He promised her that He would fill her, so He said: "Have I fulfilled you?" She replied: "Is there any path left?" meaning: I am filled.

Muhammad said: "(The Day)" is in the accusative case, with the implicit meaning of: [Remember] the Day when He says. It may also be in the sense of: "The word is not changed with Me" on that Day. And Allah knows best what He intended.

The interpretation of verses 31 through 35 of Surah Q.
