Translation · EN

'So when the Horn is blown with a single blast' (69:13), and it is the final blast.

Muhammad said: The recitation 'nafkhatun wāḥidatun' (a single blast) is in the nominative case (rafʿ) as a passive voice construction (mā lam yusamma fāʿiluhu). The meaning is: 'A single blast is blown into the Horn.'

﴿فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ نَفْخَةٌ وَاحِدَة﴾ وَهِيَ النَّفْخَةُ الْآخِرَةُ.

قَالَ محمدٌ: الْقِرَاءَة (نفخةٌ واحدةٌ) بِالرَّفْعِ عَلَى مَا لَمْ يُسَمَّ فَاعِلُهُ؛ الْمَعْنَى نُفِخَ نفخةٌ واحدةٌ فِي الصُّورِ.
