Yahya: From Sufyan al-Thawri, from Asim al-Ahwal, from al-Sha'bi, who said: 'The one who repents from a sin is like one who has no sin.' (1) His saying: 'Their light will run before them,' meaning it will lead them to Paradise, 'and on their right hands' — their records are their glad tidings of Paradise — 'they will say: Our Lord, perfect for us our light.' Mujahid said: They will say it when the light of the hypocrites is extinguished.
