"And no close friend will ask about a close friend." Al-Hasan's interpretation: No relative will ask his relative to bear any of his sins for him, just as some of them used to bear for others in this world.
Muhammad said: Al-hamim is the relative, and al-hamim also refers to water that is extremely hot. Interpretation of Surah al-Ma'arij from verses (10-18).
﴿وَلَا يسْأَل حميم حميما﴾ تَفْسِيرُ الْحَسَنِ: لَا يَسْأَلُ قريبٌ قَرِيبَهُ أَنْ يَحْمِلَ عَنْهُ مِنْ ذُنُوبِهِ شَيْئًا؛ كَمَا كَانَ يَحْمِلُ بعضُهم فِي الدُّنْيَا عَنْ بَعْضٍ.
قَالَ محمدٌ: الْحَمِيمُ: الْقَرِيبُ، وَالْحَمِيمُ أَيْضا: المَاء الشَّديد الْحر. تَفْسِير سُورَة المعارج من آيه (١٠ - ١٨)
