"'Azīn," meaning: scattered—according to the interpretation of al-Hasan—away from the Prophet, denying what he brought.
Muhammad said: "Muhti'in" (hastening) is in the accusative case as a circumstantial qualifier (hal), and "'azin" is the plural of "'izah," and the "'izah" is the group.
﴿عزين﴾ أَيْ: مُتَفَرِّقِينَ - فِي تَفْسِيرِ الْحَسَنِ - عَنِ النَّبِيِّ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِمَا جَاءَ بِهِ.
قَالَ محمدٌ (مُهْطِعِينَ) مَنْصُوبٌ عَلَى الْحَال، و (عزين) جمع عزَة والعِزَةُ: الْجَمَاعَة.
