"A day that will make the children grey-haired," meaning: How then will you protect yourselves against that day on which the children will be made grey-haired? That is to say: If you disbelieve, you will not be able to protect yourselves from it.
﴿يَوْمًا يَجْعَل الْولدَان شيبا﴾ أَيْ: فَكَيْفَ تَتَّقُونَ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمَ الَّذِي يُجْعل الْوَلْدَانُ فِيهِ شِيبًا؟: أَيْ: إِنْ كَفَرْتُمْ لَمْ تَتَّقُوهُ.
