Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin
Volume 5 · Page 30337

Translation · EN

"And by the night when it departs"—meaning when it turns away. Some of them recite: "When it departs," meaning when it turns away.

Muhammad said: It is said: The night 'dabara' and 'adbara' [departed], just as you say: 'Qabala' and 'aqbala' [approached]. It is also said: "So-and-so 'dabarani' and 'khalafani' [came after me/followed me]"—meaning when he comes after me.

"And by the morning when it shines."
