"Or have you felt secure"—meaning: have you felt secure? —"against Him who is in the heaven," meaning: Himself; meaning: that you would be secure "that He should send against you a storm of stones," just as He pelted the people of Lot; meaning: the stones that He rained down upon them.
﴿أم أمنتم﴾ أَي: أأ منتم؟ ﴿من فِي السَّمَاء﴾ يَعْنِي: نَفسه؛ أَي تَأْمَنُونَ ﴿أَنْ يُرْسِلَ عَلَيْكُمْ حَاصِبًا﴾ كَمَا حَصَبَ قَوْمَ لُوطٍ؛ يَعْنِي: الْحِجَارَة الَّتِي أمطرها عَلَيْهِم (١)
