(Except boiling water and a fluid resulting from the washing of wounds). The boiling water (al-hamim) is that which cannot be endured due to its heat. The ghassaq is the thick, foul-smelling pus. Some say: The ghassaq is that which cannot be endured due to the intensity of its cold, and it is the freezing cold (al-zamharir).
﴿إِلَّا حميما وغساقا﴾ الْحَمِيمُ: الَّذِي لَا يُسْتَطَاعُ مِنْ حَرِّهِ، والغسَّاق: القيحُ الْغَلِيظُ المنتنُ، وَبَعْضُهُمْ يَقُولُ: الْغَسَّاقُ الَّذِي لَا يُسْتَطَاعُ مِنْ شِدَّةِ بَرْدِهِ، وَهُو الزَّمْهَرِير.
