Translation · EN

"When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley," meaning: the blessed [valley], "Tuwa." Al-Hasan said: The meaning is: It was sanctified with blessing.

Muhammad said: Yahya did not clarify how to read (Tuwa), and Abu Ubayd mentioned that al-Hasan used to read it (Tiwan) with tanwin and a kasra on the ta', meaning: it was sanctified twice.

﴿إِذْ ناداه ربه بالوادي الْمُقَدّس﴾ يَعْنِي: الْمُبَارك ﴿طوى﴾ قَالَ: الْحَسَنُ: الْمَعْنَى: طُوِيَ بِالْبَرَكَةِ.

قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ: لَمْ يُبَيِّنْ يَحْيَى كَيفَ الْقِرَاءَة فِي (طُوى)، وَذَكَرَ أَبُو عُبَيْدٍ أَنَّ الْحَسَنَ كَانَ يَقْرَؤُهَا (طِوًى) مُنَوَّنَةٌ بِكَسْرِ الطَّاءِ، عَلَى مَعْنَى: قُدِّسَ مَرَّتَيْنِ.
