Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin
Volume 5 · Page 52Al-Qalam

Translation · EN

Regarding His saying: "Nun, and the Pen," al-Hasan's interpretation is: He means the inkwell and the pen, this being the pen with which writing is done. Others say: It is the whale upon which the stability of the earth rests. "And what they inscribe," means: they write; referring to the angels.
