"For what sin was she killed?" Al-Hasan said: "Allah intended to rebuke her killer, for she was killed without any sin; thus, she was asked, and no sin was found for her." Some of them read: "And when the girl [who was] buried alive asks, 'For what sin was I killed?'" So the girl clings to her father and says, "For what sin did you kill me?!"
﴿بِأَيّ ذَنْب قتلت﴾ قَالَ الْحَسَنُ: أَرَادَ اللَّهُ أَنْ يوبِّخ قَاتِلَهَا؛ لِأَنَّهَا قُتِلت بِغَيْرِ ذَنْبٍ فسُئلتْ فَلَمْ يُوجَدْ لَهَا ذَنْب، وَبَعْضهمْ يقْرَأ: (وَإِذا الموءدةُ سَأَلَتْ بِأَيِّ ذَنْبٍ قُتِلَتْ)؛ فَتَتَعَلَّقُ الْجَارِيَةُ بِأَبِيهَا، فَتَقُولُ: بِأَيِّ ذَنْبٍ قَتَلْتَنِي؟!
