"Nay! Verily, the record of the wicked"—the polytheists—"is in Sijjin." Regarding the interpretation of Ibn Abbas, he said: I asked Ka'b about His saying: "Verily, the record of the wicked is in Sijjin," and he replied: It is a black stone beneath the seventh earth in which the souls of the disbelievers are recorded.
﴿كلا إِن كتاب الْفجار﴾ الْمُشْركين ﴿لفي سِجِّين﴾ تَفْسِيرُ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ كَعْبًا عَنْ قَوْلِهِ: ﴿إِنَّ كِتَابَ الْفجار لفي سِجِّين﴾ فَقَالَ: حَجَرٌ أَسْوَدُ تَحْتَ الْأَرْضِ السَّابِعَةِ تُكْتَبُ فِيهِ أَرْوَاحُ الْكُفَّارِ.
