{And Allah is from behind them encompassing} - until He requites them for their deeds.
Muhammad said: The meaning is that His power encompasses them; no one among them can frustrate Him, and this is what Yahya intended.
﴿وَالله من ورائهم مُحِيط﴾ حَتَّى يَجْزِيَهُمْ بِأَعْمَالِهِمْ.
قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ: الْمَعْنَى: إِنَّ قُدْرَتَهُ مُشْتَمِلَةٌ عَلَيْهِمْ لَا يُعْجِزُهُ مِنْهُمْ أَحَدٌ، وَهُوَ الَّذِي أَرَادَ يحيى.
