"And Who determined and guided." This means: He determined him in his creation as a sperm-drop, then a clinging clot, then a lump of flesh, then bone, then flesh, then hair, then He breathed the soul into him. He said: "And guided," meaning: He made clear to him the way—the way of guidance and the way of misguidance, in the interpretation of al-Hasan.
﴿وَالَّذِي قدر فهدى﴾ أَيْ: قَدَّرَهُ فِي خَلْقِهِ نُطْفَةً، ثمَّ علقَة، ثمَّ مُضْغَة، ثمَّ عَظْمًا، ثُمَّ لَحْمًا، ثُمَّ شَعْرًا، ثُمَّ نَفَخَ فِيهِ الرُّوحَ، قَالَ: ﴿فهدى﴾ بَيَّنَ لَهُ السَّبِيلَ: سَبِيلَ الْهُدَى، وَسَبِيلَ الضَّلالَةِ، فِي تَفْسِيرِ الْحَسَنِ
