Translation · EN

"Peace it is, until the rising of the dawn," meaning: it is all peace until the rising of the dawn.

Muhammad said: "Al-matla" (the rising) with a fathah on the lam means the rising of the sun, and "al-matli" with a kasrah refers to the place from which it rises. They said: "al-qadr" and "al-qadar" carry the same meaning, referring to what Allah, may He be exalted and glorified, decrees.

﴿سَلامٌ هِيَ حَتَّى مَطْلَعِ الْفَجْرِ﴾ يَعْنِي: هِيَ خَيْرٌ كُلُّهَا إِلَى مَطْلَعِ الْفَجْرِ.

قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ: (الْمَطْلَعُ) بِفَتْحِ اللَّامِ: طُلُوعُ الشَّمْسِ، وَالْمَطْلِعُ بِالْكَسْرِ مِنْ حَيْثُ تَطْلُعْ، وَقَالُوا: الْقَدْرُ وَالْقَدَرُ بِمَعْنًى وَاحِدٍ، يُرِيدُونَ مَا يُقَّدِّرُ اللَّهُ ﷿.
