Translation · EN

Regarding His saying: "And by those that raid at dawn"—Al-Hasan said: These are the horses that raid upon the enemy when morning arrives.

Anas ibn Malik said: "There was a people between whom and the Prophet (ﷺ) there was a covenant, but they violated it—they were the people of Fadak. So the Messenger of Allah sent his cavalry to them, and they reached them at dawn; they are those concerning whom Allah revealed: 'By the galloping horses that snort' (Al-Adiyat: 1)."

قَوْله: ﴿فالمغيرات صبحا﴾ قَالَ الْحَسَنُ: هِيَ الْخَيْلُ تُغِيرُ عَلَى الْعَدُوِّ إِذَا أَصْبَحَتْ.

قَالَ أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ: ((إِنَّ قَوْمًا كَانَ بَينهم وَبَين النَّبي ﷺ عَهْدٌ فَنَقَضُوهُ - وَهُمْ أَهْلُ فَدَكٍ - فَبَعَثَ إِلَيْهِمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ خَيْلَهُ فَصَبَّحُوهُمْ، وَهُمُ الَّذِينَ أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ فِيهِمْ: ﴿وَالْعَادِيَاتِ ضَبْحًا﴾.
