Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin
Volume 5 · Page 923

Translation · EN

Then He excepted from mankind, saying: "Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth," meaning the Oneness of God (Tawhid), "and advised each other to patience" in performing the obligatory acts of worship.

Muhammad [Ibn Abi Zamanin] said: The term "Al-'Asr" (the era/time) also refers to the night, and the day is also an 'asr. The poet said:

(The two 'asrs, day and night, continue to linger ... whenever they seek to attain what they have intended.)

And time (al-dahr) is also an 'asr.
