Translation · EN

And he does not encourage the feeding of the needy. This is because the polytheists used to say: "Shall we feed those whom, if Allah willed, He would have fed?"

﴿وَلا يَحُضُّ عَلَى طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ﴾ وَذَلِكَ أَنَّ الْمُشْرِكِينَ كَانُوا يَقُولُونَ ﴿أَنُطْعِمُ مَنْ لَوْ يَشَاءُ اللَّهُ أطْعمهُ﴾.
