Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin
Volume 5 · Page 953

Translation · EN

So Allah said to His Prophet: "Indeed, your enemy is the cut-off one [al-abtar]." And He said: "I am not remembered except that you are remembered with Me." As for the enemy of Allah, al-As ibn Wa'il, his mention is cut off from every good, so he is never mentioned with good ever.

Muhammad said: He only said "that cut-off one" because the Arabs call someone who had sons and daughters, but the sons died and the daughters remained: "abtar" (cut-off). I have seen it that way from Ibn Abbas.
