"Or do they have knowledge of the unseen?" meaning knowledge of the unseen, "so that they are recording it" for themselves, claiming Paradise, if indeed there is a Paradise; according to the saying of one of them: "And if I am returned to my Lord, indeed for me with Him will be the best [outcome]," meaning Paradise, if indeed there is a Paradise. ﴿أم عِنْدهم الْغَيْب﴾ علم الْغَيْب ﴿فهم يَكْتُبُونَ﴾ لِأَنْفَسِهِمُ الْجَنَّةَ إِنْ كَانَتْ جَنَّةٌ؛ لقَوْل أحدهم: ﴿وَلَئِنْ رُجِعْتُ إِلَى رَبِّي إِنَّ لِي عِنْدَهُ لَلْحُسْنَى﴾ للجنة إِن كَانَت جنَّة. تَفْسِير سُورَة الْقَلَم من الْآيَة (٤٨ - ٥٢)
