"So be patient for the decision of your Lord," meaning: He who decrees upon you. This was before he was commanded to fight them. "And be not like the companion of the fish," meaning: Yunus (Jonah), "when he called out," meaning: from within the belly of the whale, "while he was distressed," meaning: filled with grief. The interpretation of the story of Yunus has already passed.
﴿فاصبرلحكم رَبك﴾ أَيْ: الَّذِي يَحْكُمُ عَلَيْكَ، وَكَانَ هَذَا قبل أَن يُؤمر بقتالهم ﴿وَلَا تكن كصاحب الْحُوت﴾ يَعْنِي: يُونُس ﴿إِذْ نَادَى﴾ يَعْنِي: فِي بَطْنِ الْحُوتِ ﴿وَهُوَ مكظوم﴾ مَكْرُوبٌ؛ وَقَدْ مَضَى تَفْسِيرُ قِصَّةِ يُونُس.
