[The third interpretation]
563 - Abu 'Abd Allah al-Tahrani informed us in what he wrote to me, Isma'il ibn 'Abd al-Karim al-San'ani narrated to us, 'Abd al-Samad ibn Ma'qil narrated to me that he heard Wahb ibn Munabbih, and he was asked: What is the Salwa? He said: A fat bird like a dove. It used to come to them, and they would take from it from one Sabbath to the next.
[The fourth interpretation]
564 - Abu 'Abd Allah al-Tahrani narrated to me, Hafs ibn 'Umar narrated to us, al-Hakam ibn Aban narrated to us, from 'Ikrimah: As for the Salwa, it is a bird; it is like a bird that is internally larger than a sparrow, or something similar to that.
His saying: "Eat from the good things which We have provided for you"
565 - Yunus ibn Habib narrated to us, Abu 'Amir al-Khazzaz narrated to us, from al-Hasan regarding the saying of Allah: "Eat from the good things which We have provided for you." He said: He did not mention your yellow ones or your red ones, but rather He said they limit themselves to its lawful things. It was narrated from Muqatil ibn Hayyan something similar to that.
His saying: "And they did not wrong Us"
566 - Muhammad ibn Yahya al-Wasiti narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Bashir—the preacher—narrated to us, 'Amr ibn 'Atiyyah narrated to us, from his father, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "And they did not wrong Us," he said: We are too exalted to be wronged.
His saying: "But they were [only] wronging themselves"
567 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Minjab ibn al-Harith narrated to us, Bishr narrated to us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "wronging themselves," he said: They were harming [themselves].
568 - My father narrated to us, Musa ibn Isma'il narrated to us, Mubarak narrated to us, from al-Hasan, he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "No one is more fond of praise than Allah, and no one is more frequent in offering excuses than Allah. He punished a people for their sins, [yet] He offered excuses to the believers, saying: 'And they did not wrong Us, but they were [only] wronging themselves.'"
His saying: "And [recall] when We said, 'Enter this city'"
569 - al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma'mar informed us, from Qatadah regarding: "Enter this city," he said: Jerusalem. And it was narrated from al-Rabi' ibn Anas and al-Suddi something similar to that.

٥٦٣ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الطِّهْرَانِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ الصَّنْعَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ مَعْقِلٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ وَهْبَ بْنَ مُنَبِّهٍ وَسُئِلَ مَا السَّلْوَى؟ قَالَ طَيْرٌ سَمِينٌ مِثْلُ الْحَمَامِ فَكَانَ يَأْتِيهِمْ فَيَأْخُذُونَ مِنْهُ مِنْ سَبْتٍ إِلَى سَبْتٍ.

٥٦٤ - حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الطِّهْرَانِيُّ ثنا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ثنا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ أَبَانَ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ وَأَمَّا السَّلْوَى فَطَيْرٌ، كَطَيْرٍ يَكُونُ بَاطِنُهُ أَكْبَرَ مِنَ الْعُصْفُورِ أَوْ نَحْوَ ذَلِكَ.
قَوْلُهُ: كُلُوا مِنْ طَيِّبَاتِ مَا رَزَقْنَاكُمْ
٥٦٥ - حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ ثنا أَبُو عَامِرٍ الْخَزَّازُ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: كُلُوا مِنْ طَيِّبَاتِ مَا رَزَقْنَاكُمْ أَمَا إِنَّهُ لَمْ يَذْكُرْ أَصْفَرَكُمْ وَأَحْمَرَكُمْ وَلَكِنَّهُ قَالَ يَنْتَهُونَ إِلَى حَلالِهِ. وَرُوِيَ عَنْ مُقَاتِلِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.
قَوْلُهُ: وَمَا ظَلَمُونَا
٥٦٦ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْوَاسِطِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ- يَعْنِي الْوَاعِظَ- ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَطِيَّةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَمَا ظَلَمُونَا قَالَ نَحْنُ أَعَزُّ مِنْ أَنْ نُظْلَمَ.
قَوْلُهُ: وَلَكِنْ كَانُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ
٥٦٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ ثنا مِنْجَابُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ثنا بِشْرٌ عَنْ أَبِي رَوْقٍ عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: أَنْفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ قَالَ يَضُرُّونَ.
٥٦٨ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ثنا مُبَارَكٌ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- مَا أَحَدٌ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ الْمَدْحُ «١» مِنَ اللَّهِ، وَلا أَكْثَرَ مَعَاذِيرَا مِنَ اللَّهِ، عَذَّبَ قَوْمًا بِذُنُوبِهِمْ، اعْتَذَرَ إِلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ قَالَ وَمَا ظَلَمْنَاهُمْ وَلَكِنْ كَانُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ
قوله: وَإِذْ قُلْنَا ادْخُلُوا هَذِهِ الْقَرْيَةَ
٥٦٩ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ أَنْبَأَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ «٢» أَنْبَأَ مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ادْخُلُوا هَذِهِ الْقَرْيَةَ قَالَ: بَيْتُ الْمَقْدِسِ.
وَرُوِيَ عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ وَالسُّدِّيِّ نَحْوُ ذلك.
