The second view:
885 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Sa'id al-Asbahani narrated to us, Yahya ibn al-Yaman narrated to us, from 'Abd Allah ibn al-Mubarak, from Ma'ruf ibn Mushkan, from Ibn Abi Najih, he said: The Spirit is the protectors over the angels.
His saying: "The Holy [al-Quds]"

886 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Minjab ibn al-Harith narrated to us, Bishr ibn Abi Rawq narrated to us, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding "the Holy Spirit [bi-ruh al-qudus]," he said: It is the Name by which Jesus used to revive the dead.
It was narrated from Sa'id ibn Jubayr similarly.
And the second view:
887 - My father narrated to us, Ahmad ibn 'Abd al-Rahman al-Dashtaki narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Abi Ja'far narrated to us, from his father, from al-Rabi' ibn Anas, he said: "The Holy [al-Quds]" is the Lord, Blessed and Exalted is He.
And the third view:
888 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, 'Amr ibn Hammad narrated to us, Asbat ibn Nasr narrated to us, from al-Suddi, he said: "The Holy [al-Quds]" is the blessing [al-barakah].
And the fourth view:
889 - Muhammad ibn Sa'd ibn 'Atiyyah al-'Awfi informed us in what he wrote to me, my father narrated to me, my uncle narrated to me, my father narrated to me, from his father, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "with the Holy Spirit," he said: "The Holy [al-Quds]" is the Purified [al-mutahhar].
His saying: "Is it that whenever there came to you a messenger with what your souls did not desire, you were arrogant? And a party [of messengers] you denied and another party you killed."
890 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, Abu Ghassan narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ishaq said: Muhammad ibn Abi Muhammad narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, or 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas, he said: And what was made lawful for them from the Torah along with the Gospel which Allah revealed to him, then He mentioned their disbelief in all of that. He said: "Is it that whenever there came to you a messenger with what your souls did not desire, you were arrogant? And a party [of messengers] you denied and another party you killed."
