His saying: "And they have indeed known"
1023 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Safwan narrated to us, al-Walid narrated to us, Sa'id ibn Bashir informed us, from Qatadah, regarding the saying of Allah: "And they have indeed known for whomsoever purchases it," meaning: "And the People of the Scripture knew, in what they read of the Book of Allah." Abu Muhammad said: It was also narrated from al-Rabi' ibn Anas something similar.
His saying: "For whomsoever purchases it"
1024 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, Yazid narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "And they have indeed known for whomsoever purchases it," i.e., whoever desires it.
1025 - My father narrated to us, Abu Hudhayfah narrated to us, Shibl narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, regarding His saying: "And they have indeed known for whomsoever purchases it," i.e., he purchased that by which he separates a man from his wife.
His saying: "He has no share in the Hereafter"
1026 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, Abu Ja'far narrated to us, al-Rabi' ibn Anas narrated to us, from Qays ibn 'Abbad, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "He has no share in the Hereafter," he said: "No portion." It was narrated from Mujahid and al-Suddi something similar.
1027 - Al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma'mar informed us, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "He has no share in the Hereafter," he said: "He has no status with Allah in the Hereafter."
1028 - Ma'mar said, and al-Hasan said: "He has no religion."
1029 - Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Sabbah narrated to us, 'Abd al-Wahhab narrated to us, from Sa'id, from Qatadah, regarding "He has no share in the Hereafter," he said: "And the People of the Scripture knew, from what Allah had covenanted with them, that the sorcerer has no share in the Hereafter."
His saying: "And miserable is that for which they sold their own selves, if they only knew"
1030 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, 'Amr ibn Hammad ibn Talhah narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi: "And miserable is that for which they sold their own selves," meaning: the Jews; he says: "Miserable is that for which they sold their own selves."
His saying: "And if they had believed and feared Allah"
1031 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas informed us, Yazid narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "And if they had believed and feared Allah," he said: "Believed in what was revealed."
