And the four that are in the rituals: Tawaf (circumambulation) of the House, Sa'i (walking) between al-Safa and al-Marwah, throwing the pebbles (Ramy al-Jimar), and the Ifadah (procession/overflowing from 'Arafat).

The Fifth View:

And it is one of the sayings from Ibn 'Abbas:

1169 - al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, he said: Ma'mar said, and Qatadah said: Ibn 'Abbas said: Allah tested him with the rites (manasik).

And likewise, Sharik narrated it from Abu Ishaq, from al-Tamimi, from Ibn 'Abbas. And it was narrated from Qatadah and al-Rabi' something similar.

The Sixth View:

1170 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Isma'il ibn 'Ulayyah narrated to us, from Abu Raja', from al-Hasan, regarding "And when his Lord tested Abraham with words," he said: He tested him with the star and he was pleased with him, and He tested him with the moon and he was pleased with him, and He tested him with the sun and he was pleased with him, and He tested him with the miracle and he was pleased with him, and He tested him with circumcision and he was pleased with him, and He tested him with his son and he was pleased with him.

The Seventh View:

1171 - al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Sabbah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, from Warqa', from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid (1), his statement: "And when his Lord tested Abraham with words, and he fulfilled them," Allah said to Abraham: "I am going to test you with a command, so what is it?" He said: "You will make me an Imam (leader) for the people." He said: "Yes." He said: "And from my descendants?" He said: "My covenant does not include the wrongdoers." He said: "You will make the House a resort for the people." He said: "Yes." He said: "And a place of security." He said: "Yes." He said: "And You will make us Muslims to You and from our descendants a nation Muslim to You." He said: "Yes." He said: "And show us our rites and turn to us in repentance; indeed, You are the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful." He said: "Yes." He said: "And make this city a place of security." He said: "Yes." He said: "And provide its people with fruits, whoever believes in Allah." He said: "Yes" (2).

Ibn Abi Najih said: I heard it from 'Ikrimah, then I presented it to Mujahid (3) and he did not reject it.
