And Allah revealed: "And whoever disbelieves"—also—I will grant provision to them just as I grant provision to the believers. I create creatures and do not grant them provision; I will let them enjoy a little, then I will compel them to the punishment of the Fire.
1220 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, from Warqa', from Ibn Abi Najih, he said: I heard 'Ikrimah say: Abraham said: "And provide its people with fruits, [specifically] those of them who believe in Allah [and the Last Day]?" Allah said: Yes.
1221 - My father narrated to us, 'Isa ibn Marhum al-'Attar narrated to us, Yahya ibn Sulaym narrated to us, he said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Ali ibn Nafi' ibn Jubayr and he was saying: I heard al-Zuhri saying: Allah moved a village from the villages of al-Sham and placed it in al-Ta'if due to the supplication of Abraham, the Friend of Allah (Khalil Allah).
1222 - My father mentioned from Hisham ibn 'Ubayd Allah, from Muhammad ibn Muslim al-Ta'ifi, he said: It reached me that when Abraham—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—prayed for the Sanctuary: "And provide its people with fruits," Allah moved al-Ta'if from Palestine.
His statement: "[specifically] those of them who believe in Allah and the Last Day"
1223 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His statement: "those of them who believe in Allah and the Last Day"—he said: That is, whoever declares Allah to be One and believes in the Last Day.
His statement: "He said: And whoever disbelieves"
1224 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, from Abu Ja'far, from al-Rabi', Abu al-'Aliyah said: Ubayy ibn Ka'b said: "And whoever disbelieves" is from the statement of the Lord. He said: "And whoever disbelieves, I will let him enjoy a little." And Ibn 'Abbas said: This is from the statement of Abraham, asking his Lord that whoever disbelieves, He should let him enjoy a little.
1225 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, from Warqa', from Ibn Abi Najih, he said: I heard 'Ikrimah say: Allah said: "And whoever disbelieves as well, I will provide for him in the worldly life," when Abraham sought provision for those who believe. Ibn Abi Najih said: I heard this from 'Ikrimah, then I presented it to Mujahid and he did not object to it (1).

فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ وَمَنْ كَفَرَ- أَيْضًا- أَرْزُقُهُمْ كَمَا أَرْزُقُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، أُخْلُقُ خَلْقًا لَا أَرْزُقُهُمْ أُمَتِّعُهُمْ قَلِيلا ثُمَّ اضْطَرُّهُمْ إِلَى عَذَابِ النَّارِ.
١٢٢٠ - حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامُ بْنُ رَوَّادٍ ثنا آدَمُ عَنْ وَرْقَاءَ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عِكْرِمَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ: وَتَرْزُقُ أَهْلَهُ مِنَ الثَّمَرَاتِ مَنْ آمَنَ مِنْهُمْ بِاللَّهِ؟ قَالَ اللَّهُ:
نَعَمْ.
١٢٢١ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا عِيسَى بْنُ مَرْحُومٍ الْعَطَّارُ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ الزُّهْرِيَّ يَقُولُ: إِنِ اللَّهِ نَقَلَ قَرْيَةً مِنْ قُرَى الشَّامِ فَوَضَعَهَا فِي الطَّائِفِ لَدَعْوَةِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ خَلِيلِ اللَّهِ.
١٢٢٢ - ذَكَرَ أَبِي عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ الطَّائِفِيِّ قَالَ:
بَلَغَنِي أَنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ- صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- لَمَّا دَعَا لِلْحَرَمِ: وَارْزُقْ أَهْلَهُ مِنَ الثَّمَرَاتِ نَقَلَ اللَّهُ الطَّائِفَ مِنْ فِلَسْطِينَ.
قَوْلُهُ: مَنْ آمَنَ مِنْهُمْ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ
١٢٢٣ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلُهُ: مَنْ آمَنَ مِنْهُمْ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ- يَعْنِي- مَنْ وَحَّدَ اللَّهَ وَآمَنَ بِالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ.
قوله: قَالَ وَمَنْ كَفَرَ
١٢٢٤ - حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامُ بْنُ رَوَّادٍ ثنا آدَمُ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ قَالَ أَبُو الْعَالِيَةِ:
قَالَ أُبَيُّ بْنُ كَعْبٍ: وَمَنْ كَفَرَ أنَّ هَذَا مِنْ قَوْلِ الرَّبِّ قَالَ: وَمَنْ كَفَرَ فَأُمَتِّعُهُ قَلِيلا وَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: هَذَا مِنْ قَوْلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ يَسْأَلُ رَبَّهُ أَنَّ مَنْ كَفَرَ فَأُمَتِّعُهُ قَلِيلا.
١٢٢٥ - حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامُ بْنُ رَوَّادٍ ثنا آدَمُ عَنْ وَرْقَاءَ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عِكْرِمَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ اللَّهُ: وَمَنْ كَفَرَ أَيْضًا فَإِنِّي أَرْزُقُهُ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا حِينَ اسْتَرْزَقَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ لِمَنْ آمَنَ قَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ: سَمِعْتُ هَذَا مِنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، ثُمَّ عَرَضْتُهُ عَلَى مُجَاهِدٍ «١» فَلَمْ يُنْكِرْهُ.
