His statement: "Indeed You are the Hearing, the Knowing."

1241 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Amr narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq narrated to us, he said: "The Hearing," meaning: Hearing of what they say.

1242 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Bukayr narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding the statement of Allah: "The Hearing, the Knowing"—meaning: Knowing of it.

His statement: "Our Lord, and make us Muslims [in submission] to You"

1243 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, al-Muqaddami narrated to us, Sa'id ibn 'Amir narrated to us, from Salam ibn Abi Muti': Regarding this verse: "And make us Muslims [in submission] to You," he said: They were both already Muslims, but they were asking Him for steadfastness.

1244 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, from Warqa', from Ibn Abi Najih, he said: I heard 'Ikrimah, the freed slave of Ibn 'Abbas, saying: Abraham said: "Will You make us Muslims [in submission] to You?" Allah said: "Yes."

1245 - My father narrated to us, Isma'il ibn Raja' ibn Hayyan al-Hisni al-Qurashi narrated to us, Ma'qil ibn 'Ubayd Allah narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Karim: "And make us Muslims [in submission] to You," he said: "Sincere to You."

His statement: "And from our descendants a nation Muslim [in submission] to You"

1246 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, 'Amr ibn Hammad narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi: "And from our descendants a nation Muslim [in submission] to You," he meant: the Arabs.

1247 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, from Warqa', from Ibn Abi Najih, he said: I heard 'Ikrimah saying: Abraham said: "And from our descendants a nation Muslim [in submission] to You," and Allah said: "Yes."

1250 - Yunus ibn Habib narrated to us, Abu Dawud narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Abu 'Asim al-Ghanawi, from Abu al-Tufayl, from Ibn 'Abbas, he said: When the rites were shown to Abraham, the devil appeared to him at the Mas'a (place of running), and Abraham raced him. Then Gabriel took him and brought him to Mina. He said: "This is the place where people stop." Then he brought him to the Jamrat al-'Aqabah, where the devil appeared to him, so he pelted him with seven stones until he went away. He took him to the Jamrat al-Wusta, where the devil appeared to him, so he pelted him with seven stones until he went away. Then he brought him to the Jamrat al-Quswa, where the devil appeared to him, so he pelted him with seven stones until he went away. Then he brought him to Jam' (Muzdalifah), and said: "This is the Mash'ar al-Haram." Then he brought him to 'Arafah and said: "This is 'Arafah." Gabriel then said to him: "Do you recognize it?"

قوله: إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

١٢٤١ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ثنا سَلَمَةُ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ: السَّمِيعُ أَيْ سَمِيعٌ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ.

١٢٤٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ في قول الله: السميع العليم- يعني عالم بِهَا.

قَوْلُهُ: رَبَّنَا وَاجْعَلْنَا مُسْلِمَيْنِ لَكَ

١٢٤٣ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ثنا الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ عَنْ سَلامِ بْنِ أَبِي مُطِيعٍ هَذِهِ الآيَةُ: وَاجْعَلْنَا مُسْلِمَيْنِ لَكَ قَالَ: كَانَا مُسْلِمَيْنِ وَلَكِنَّهُمَا سَأَلاهُ الثَّبَاتَ

١٢٤٤ - حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامُ بْنُ رَوَّادٍ ثنا آدَمُ عَنْ وَرْقَاءَ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عِكْرِمَةَ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ: قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ: تَجْعَلْنَا مُسْلِمَيْنِ لَكَ؟ قَالَ اللَّهُ: نَعَمْ.

١٢٤٥ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ رَجَاءِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ الْحِصْنِيُّ الْقُرَشِيُّ ثنا معقل ابن عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ: وَاجْعَلْنَا مُسْلِمَيْنِ لَكَ قَالَ: مُخْلِصَيْنِ لَكَ.

قَوْلُهُ: وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِنَا أُمَّةً مُسْلِمَةً لَكَ

١٢٤٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ حَمَدٍ ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ: وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِنَا أُمَّةً مُسْلِمَةً لَكَ يَعْنِيَانِ الْعَرَبَ.

١٢٤٧ - حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامُ بْنُ رَوَّادٍ ثنا آدَمُ عَنْ وَرْقَاءَ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عِكْرِمَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِنَا أُمَّةً مُسْلِمَةً لَكَ فَقَالَ اللَّهُ: نَعَمْ.

١٢٤٨ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ رَجَاءِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ الْقُرَشِيُّ ثنا مَعْقِلُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ: وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِنَا أُمَّةً مُسْلِمَةً لَكَ قَالَ: مُخْلِصَةً.

١٢٤٩ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ ثنا حَجَّاجٌ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ: وَأَرِنَا مَنَاسِكَنَا أَخْرِجْهَا لَنَا، عَلِّمْنَاهَا.

١٢٥٠ - حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَاصِمٍ الْغَنَوِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الطُّفَيْلِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: إِنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ لَمَّا أُرِيَ أُوَامِرَ الْمَنَاسِكِ عَرَضَ
