the devil appeared to him at the place of running, and Abraham raced him. Then Gabriel took him and brought him to Mina. He said: "This is the place where people stop." Then he brought him to the Jamrat al-'Aqabah, where the devil appeared to him, so he pelted him with seven stones until he went away. He took him to the Jamrat al-Wusta, where the devil appeared to him, so he pelted him with seven stones until he went away. Then he brought him to the Jamrat al-Quswa, where the devil appeared to him, so he pelted him with seven stones until he went away. Then he brought him to Jam', and said: "This is the Mash'ar al-Haram." Then he brought him to 'Arafah and said: "This is 'Arafah." Gabriel then said to him: "Do you recognize it?"
1251 - Muhammad ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Yazid al-Muqri' narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding the statement: "And show us our rites [of pilgrimage]," he said: "Our places of sacrifice." It was narrated from 'Ata' and Qatadah similar to that.
1252 - Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Sabbah narrated to us, Sa'id ibn Mansur narrated to us, 'Attab ibn Bashir narrated to us, from Khusayf, from Mujahid, he said: Abraham said: "Show us our rites," so Gabriel came to him and brought him to the House and said: "Raise the foundations." He raised them and completed the building. Then he took his hand and brought him out, and went with him to al-Safa, and said: "This is among the symbols of Allah." Then he went with him to al-Marwah, and said: "And this is among the symbols of Allah." Then he went with him toward Mina. When he was at the 'Aqabah, there was Iblis standing by the tree. He said: "Proclaim the greatness [of Allah] and pelt him." So he proclaimed the greatness and pelted him. Then Iblis departed and stood by the Jamrat al-Wusta. When Gabriel and Abraham came parallel to him, he said: "Proclaim the greatness and pelt him." So he proclaimed the greatness and pelted him, and Iblis left. The wretched one had wanted to introduce something into the pilgrimage, but he could not. He then took Abraham's hand until he brought him to the Mash'ar al-Haram, and said: "This is the Mash'ar al-Haram." He took Abraham's hand until he brought him to 'Arafat. "Have you recognized what I have shown you?" He said it three times, and he said: "Yes." It was narrated from Ibn Mijlaz similar to that, except that he did not mention the foundations. And from Qatadah similar to that, and he added to it: "And he showed him the shaving of the head."
His statement: "And accept our repentance; indeed, You are the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful."
1253 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, from Warqa', from Ibn Abi Najih, he said: I heard 'Ikrimah, the freed slave of Ibn 'Abbas, saying: Allah said to Abraham: "I will test you with a command, so what is it?" Abraham said: "Will You make me an Imam (leader) for the people?" Allah said: "Yes." Abraham said: "And accept our repentance." Allah said: "Yes."
