Translation · EN

His statement: "Our Lord, and send among them a messenger from themselves."

1254 - Muhammad ibn 'Awf al-Himsiyy narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to us, from Sa'id ibn Suwayd, from 'Abd al-A'la ibn Hilal al-Makki, from 'Irbad ibn Sariyah, he said: I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) say: "I am, in the sight of Allah, the Seal of the Prophets, while Adam was still kneaded in his clay. I shall inform you of that: it is the prayer of my forefather Abraham."

1255 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad al-'Asqalani narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, from Abu Ja'far, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah, regarding His statement: "Our Lord, and send among them a messenger from themselves"—meaning the nation of Muhammad (peace be upon him). It was said to him: "Your prayer has been answered, and he shall exist in the end of time."

His statement: "From them"

1256 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, 'Amr ibn Hammad narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi: "And send among them a messenger from them," and he is Muhammad (peace be upon him).

His statement: "He will recite to them Your verses"

1257 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, Yazid ibn Zuray' narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatadah, regarding His statement: "Our Lord, and send among them a messenger from them who will recite to them Your verses," he said: Allah did that; He sent among them a messenger from themselves whose face and lineage they recognized. He brings them out of darkness into light and guides them to the path of the All-Mighty, the Praiseworthy.

1258 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Bukayr narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, regarding the statement of Allah: "Your verses," meaning the Quran.

His statement: "And teach them the Book"

1259 - Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Sabbah narrated to us, Asbat ibn Muhammad narrated to us, from al-Hudhali, from al-Hasan, regarding His statement: "And teach them the Book," he said: The Book is the Quran. It was narrated from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir and Muqatil ibn Hayyan similar to that.

قوله: رَبَّنَا وَابْعَثْ فِيهِمْ رَسُولا

١٢٥٤ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَوْفٍ الْحِمْصِيُّ ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ عَنِ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى بْنِ هِلالٍ الْمَكِيِّ عَنْ عِرْبَاضِ بْنِ سَارِيَةَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: إِنِّي عِنْدَ اللَّهِ لَخَاتَمُ النَّبِيِّينَ، وَإِنَّ آدَمَ لَمُنْجَدِلٌ فِي طِينَتِهِ وَسَأُخْبِرُكُمْ عَنْ ذَلِكَ دَعْوَةُ أَبِي إِبْرَاهِيمَ «١» .

١٢٥٥ - حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامُ بْنُ رَوَّادٍ الْعَسْقَلانِيُّ ثنا آدَمُ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ قَوْلُهُ: رَبَّنَا وَابْعَثْ فِيهِمْ رَسُولا مِنْهُمْ يَعْنِي أُمَّةَ مُحَمَّدٍ- صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- فَقِيلَ لَهُ: قَدِ اسْتُجِيبَ لَكَ، وَهُوَ كَائِنٌ فِي آخِرِ الزَّمَانِ.

قوله: مِنْهُمْ

١٢٥٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ: وَابْعَثْ فِيهِمْ رَسُولا مِنْهُمْ وَهُوَ مُحَمَّدٌ- صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ-.

قَوْلُهُ: يتلوا عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتِكَ

١٢٥٧ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى أَنْبَأَ الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ثنا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَوْلُهُ: رَبَّنَا وَابْعَثْ فِيهِمْ رَسُولًا منهم يتلوا عليهم آياتك قال: ففعل الله ذلك، فَبَعَثَ فِيهِمْ رَسُولا مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ

يَعْرِفُونَ وَجْهَهُ وَنَسَبَهُ، يُخْرِجُهُمْ مِنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ وَيَهْدِيهِمْ إِلَى صِرَاطِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَمِيدِ.

١٢٥٨ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ في قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: آيَاتِكَ يَعْنِي الْقُرْآنَ.

قوله: وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ الكتاب

١٢٥٩ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ ثنا أَسْبَاطُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْهُذَلِيِّ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ الْكِتَابَ قَالَ: الْكِتَابُ: الْقُرْآنُ. وَرُوِيَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، وَمُقَاتِلِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.
