1260 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn ibn al-Junayd narrated to us, Muhammad ibn al-'Ala' narrated to us, Yunus ibn Bukayr narrated to us, from Matar ibn Mansur, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas: regarding His statement: "the Book," he said: writing with the pen.

1261 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us, Zunayj narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq said:
"And teach them the Book and Wisdom," he said: He teaches them good and evil so that they may recognize the good and perform it, and the evil and avoid it. And He informs you of His pleasure with you when you obey Him, so that you may increase in your obedience to Him, and avoid that which He is displeased with from your disobedience.

1262 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj and al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Sabbah narrated to us, both saying: Asbat ibn Muhammad narrated to us, from al-Hudhali, from al-Hasan, regarding His statement: "And teach them the Book and Wisdom," he said: Wisdom is the wisdom of the Sunnah.
It was narrated from Abu Malik, Muqatil ibn Hayyan, Qatadah, and Yahya ibn Abi Kathir similar to that.
The second view:
1263 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim narrated to us, Ahmad ibn al-Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi, regarding His statement: "Wisdom," meaning Prophethood.
The third view:
1264 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Abu Hammam narrated to us, Ibn Wahb narrated to us, Ibn Zayd ibn Aslam narrated to me, from his father, who said: Wisdom is the intellect in religion.
His statement: "And purify them"
1265 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas: "And purify them," meaning by Zakah (charity), obedience to Allah, and sincerity.

١٢٦١ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ ثنا زُنَيْجٌ ثنا سَلَمَةُ قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ:
وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ الْكِتَابَ وَالْحِكْمَةَ قَالَ: يُعَلِّمُهُمُ الْخَيْرَ وَالشَّرَّ لِيَعْرِفُوا الْخَيْرَ فَيَعْمَلُوهُ وَالشَّرَّ فَيَتَّقُوهُ، وَيُخْبِرُكُمْ بِرِضَائِهِ عَنْكُمْ إِذَا أَطَعْتُمُوهُ لِتَسْتَكْثِرُوا مِنَ طَاعَتِهِ، وَتَجْتَنِبُوا مَا سَخَطَ مِنْكُمْ مِنْ مَعْصِيَتِهِ «١» .

١٢٦٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ وَالْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ قَالا: ثنا أَسْبَاطُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْهُذَلِيِّ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ الْكِتَابَ وَالْحِكْمَةَ قَالَ:
الْحِكْمَةُ حِكْمَةُ السُّنَّةِ.
وَرُوِيَ عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ وَمُقَاتِلِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ وَقَتَادَةَ وَيَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.
وَالْوَجْهُ الثَّانِي:
١٢٦٣ - حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ قَوْلُهُ: الْحِكْمَةَ يَعْنِي النُّبُوَّةَ.
الْوَجْهُ الثَّالِثُ:
١٢٦٤ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ثنا أَبُو هَمَّامٍ ثنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: الْحِكْمَةُ: الْعَقْلُ فِي الدِّينِ.
قَوْلُهُ: وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ
١٢٦٥ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ عن ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ يَعْنِي بِالزَّكَاةِ طَاعَةَ اللَّهِ والإخلاص.
