1299 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, Abu Ghassan narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq. Muhammad ibn Abi Muhammad said: Abu Yasir ibn Akhtab, Nafi' ibn Abi Nafi', 'Azar, Khalid, Yazid, Azar, and Ashya' came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and asked him about whom he believes in among the messengers. The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "We believe in Allah and what was revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes (al-asbat), and what was given to Moses and Jesus, and what was given to the prophets from their Lord."
His statement: "And the Tribes (al-asbat)."
1300 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad al-'Asqalani narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, Abu Ja'far al-Razi narrated to us, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah, who said: The Tribes (al-asbat) are Joseph and his brothers, the children of Jacob—twelve men. Each man of them fathered a nation of people, and they were called the Tribes (al-asbat). Similar has been reported from Qatadah and al-Rabi' ibn Anas.
1301 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, 'Amr ibn Hammad narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi: "As for the Tribes (al-asbat), they are the children of Jacob: Joseph, Benjamin, Judah, Simeon, Levi, Dan, and Fihab."
His statement: "And what was given to Moses and Jesus, and what was given to the prophets from their Lord."
1302 - Muhammad ibn Mus'ab al-Suri narrated to us, Mu'ammal narrated to us, 'Ubayd Allah ibn Abi Humayd narrated to us, from Abu al-Malih, from Ma'qil ibn Yasar, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Believe in the Torah, the Psalms (Zabur), and the Gospel (Injil), and let the Quran suffice you."
1303 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, 'Abbas al-Khallal narrated to us, Marwan ibn Muhammad narrated to us, Kulthum ibn Ziyad narrated to us, who said: I heard Sulayman ibn Habib al-Muharibi saying: We have only been commanded to believe in the Torah and the Gospel, and not to practice what is in them.
1304 - Muhammad ibn 'Ubayd Allah ibn al-Munadi narrated to us, in what he wrote to me, Yunus ibn Muhammad al-Mu'addib narrated to us, Shayban al-Nahwi narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding "And what was given to Moses and Jesus, and what was given to the prophets from their Lord," he said: Allah commanded the believers to believe in Him and to confirm all His scriptures and His messengers.
His statement: "We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims (submitting) to Him."
1305 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, 'Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, Yazid ibn Zuray' narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding His statement: "We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims (submitting) to Him," he said: Allah commanded the believers not to make any distinction between any of them.
١٢٩٩ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ، بْنُ يَحْيَى ثنا أَبُو غَسَّانَ ثنا سَلَمَةُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ وَأَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ- صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- أَبُو يَاسِرِ بْنُ أَخْطَبَ وَنَافِعُ بْنُ أَبِي نَافِعٍ وَعَازَرٌ وَخَالِدٌ وَيَزِيدُ وَأَزَارُ وَأَشْيَعُ فَسَأَلُوهُ عَنْ مَنْ يُؤْمِنُ بِهِ مِنَ الرُّسُلِ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ- صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ-: نُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْنَا وَمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَالأَسْبَاطِ وَمَا أُوتِيَ مُوسَى وَعِيسَى وَمَا أُوتِيَ النَّبِيُّونَ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ.

١٣٠٠ - حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامُ بْنُ رَوَّادٍ الْعَسْقَلانِيُّ ثنا آدَمُ ثنا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الرَّازِيُّ عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ قَالَ الأَسْبَاطُ هُمْ يُوسُفُ وَأُخْوَتُهُ بَنُو يَعْقُوبَ اثْنَا عَشَرَ رَجُلا وَلَدَ كُلُّ رَجُلٍ مِنْهُمْ أُمَّةً مِنَ النَّاسِ فَسُمُّوا الأَسْبَاطَ. وَرُوِيَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ وَالرَّبِيعِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.
١٣٠١ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ. وَأَمَّا الأَسْبَاطُ فَهُمْ بَنُو يَعْقُوبَ، يُوسُفُ وَبِنْيَامِينُ، وَيَهُوذَى، وَشَمْعُونُ، وَلاوِي، وَجَانُ، وَفِهَابُ.
قَوْلُهُ: وَمَا أُوتِيَ مُوسَى وَعِيسَى وَمَا أُوتِيَ النَّبِيُّونَ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ
١٣٠٢ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُصْعَبٍ الصُّورِيُّ ثنا مُؤَمَّلٌ ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْمَلِيحِ عَنْ مَعْقِلِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ- صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ-:
آمِنُوا بِالتَّوْرَاةِ وَالزَّبُورِ وَالإِنْجِيلِ وَلِيَسَعْكُمُ الْقُرْآنُ.
١٣٠٣ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ثنا عَبَّاسٌ الْخَلالُ ثنا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ثنا كُلْثُومُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنَ حَبِيبٍ الْمُحَارِبِيَّ يَقُولُ: إِنَّمَا أُمِرْنَا أَنْ نُؤْمِنَ بِالتَّوْرَاةِ وَالإِنْجِيلِ وَلا نَعْمَلَ بِمَا فِيهَا.
١٣٠٤ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُنَادِي فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُؤَدِّبُ ثنا شَيْبَانُ النَّحْوِيُّ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ: وَمَا أُوتِيَ مُوسَى وَعِيسَى وَمَا أُوتِيَ النَّبِيُّونَ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ قَالَ: أَمَرَ اللَّهُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَنْ يُؤْمِنُوا بِهِ وَيُصَدِّقُوا بِكُتُبِهِ كُلِّهَا وَبِرُسُلِهِ.
قَوْلُهُ: لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ أَحَدٍ مِنْهُمْ وَنَحْنُ لَهُ مُسْلِمُونَ
١٣٠٥ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى أَنْبَأَ الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ثنا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَوْلُهُ: لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ أَحَدٍ مِنْهُمْ وَنَحْنُ لَهُ مُسْلِمُونَ قَالَ: أَمَرَ اللَّهُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَنْ لَا يُفَرِّقُوا بَيْنَ أَحَدٍ مِنْهُمْ.
