[His saying: "And instructing you in the Book and Wisdom."]
Its explanation has already preceded.
His saying: "And teaching you that which you did not know."
1394 - Ahmad ibn 'Amr ibn Abi 'Asim narrated to us, my father 'Amr ibn al-Dahhak narrated to me, my father al-Dahhak ibn Makhlad narrated to me, Shabib ibn Bishr informed us, 'Ikrimah narrated to us, from Ibn 'Abbas: "And teaching you that which you did not know," meaning: just as He taught you that the rider may pray upon his mount and the man upon his beast.
His saying: "So remember Me; I will remember you."
[The first interpretation]
1395 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from Mutarrif, from 'Atiyyah, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "So remember Me; I will remember you," he said: Allah's remembrance of you is greater than your remembrance of Him.
The second interpretation:
1396 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, Abu Ja'far narrated to us, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah, who said: Indeed, Allah remembers whoever remembers Him, increases whoever thanks Him, and punishes whoever denies Him; referring to His saying: "So remember Me; I will remember you." This has been narrated from al-Hasan in one of his two narrations, with an addition. Similar to this was also narrated from al-Hasan, al-Suddi, and al-Rabi' ibn Anas.
The third interpretation:
1397 - al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Sabbah narrated to us, Yazid ibn Harun informed us, 'Umarah al-Saydalani informed us, Makhul al-Azdi narrated to us, who said: I said to Ibn 'Umar, "What do you think of one who kills a soul, drinks alcohol, steals, and commits adultery while remembering Allah, given that Allah the Almighty has said: 'So remember Me; I will remember you'?" He said: If he remembers Allah, Allah remembers him with His curse until he desists. Similar to this was narrated from al-Suddi.
The fourth interpretation:
1398 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Bukayr narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding the saying of Allah: "So remember Me; I will remember you," he says: Remember Me through My obedience, and I will remember you through My forgiveness.
