1448 - Yunus ibn 'Abd al-A'la informed us by way of reading, Ibn Wahb reported to us, Muslim ibn Khalid informed me, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding the saying of Allah: "Those are cursed by Allah and cursed by those who curse," he said: The beasts, the camels, the cattle, and the sheep, curse the sinners among the children of Adam when the earth suffers from drought.

The Fourth View:

1449 - My father narrated to us, Abu 'Umar al-Hawdi narrated to us, Khalid ibn 'Abd Allah al-Wasiti narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Malik, from 'Ata' regarding the saying of Allah: "Those are cursed by Allah and cursed by those who curse," he said: Every creature, the jinn, and mankind.

His saying: "Except for those who repent, make amends, and openly declare [the truth]."

1450 - Muhammad ibn 'Ubayd Allah ibn al-Munadi informed us in what he wrote to me, Yunus ibn Muhammad al-Mu'addib narrated to us, Shayban al-Nahwi narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding: "Except for those who repent, make amends"—that which is between them and Allah and His Messenger—"and openly declare" that which came to them from Allah and did not conceal it and did not deny it, "then those—I will accept their repentance, and I am the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful."

1451 - 'Ali ibn al-Hasan al-Harthami narrated to us, he said: I heard Muqatil ibn Muhammad narrate from Ibn Ghamzan al-Sufi, who said: Bring these people who introduced innovations, and clarify repentance to them.

1452 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Bukayr narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Lahi'ah and 'Ata' ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "Except for those who repent," meaning: from polytheism (shirk).

His saying: "Then those—I will accept their repentance, and I am the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful."

1453 - 'Ali ibn al-Hasan narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Isa narrated to us, Jarir narrated to us, from 'Umarah, from Abu Zur'ah, who said: The first thing that was written is: I am the Accepting of repentance, I accept the repentance of whoever repents.

1454 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, 'Ata' ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, regarding His saying: "I will accept their repentance," meaning: I will overlook their sins.

١٤٤٨ - أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى قِرَاءَةً، أَنْبَأَ ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي مُسْلِمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: أُولَئِكَ يَلْعَنُهُمُ اللَّهُ وَيَلْعَنُهُمُ اللاعِنُونَ قَالَ الْبَهَائِمُ، الإِبِلُ وَالْبَقَرُ وَالْغَنَمُ، تَلْعَنُ عُصَاةَ بَنِي آدَمَ إِذَا أَجْدَبَتِ الأَرْضُ

١٤٤٩ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَبُو عُمَرَ الْحَوْضِيُّ، ثنا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: أُولَئِكَ يَلْعَنُهُمُ اللَّهُ وَيَلْعَنُهُمُ اللاعِنُونَ، قَالَ:

كُلُّ دَابَّةٍ وَالْجِنُّ وَالإِنْسُ.

قَوْلُهُ: إِلا الَّذِينَ تَابُوا وَأَصْلَحُوا وَبَيَّنُوا

١٤٥٠ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُنَادِي فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُؤَدِّبُ، ثنا شَيْبَانُ النَّحْوِيُّ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ: إِلا الَّذِينَ تَابُوا وَأَصْلَحُوا مَا بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَبَيَّنُوا الَّذِي جَاءَهُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَلَمْ يَكْتُمُوهُ وَلَمْ يَجْحَدُوا بِهِ فَأُولَئِكَ أَتُوبُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَأَنَا التَّوَّابُ الرحيم

[قوله: إلا الذين تابوا وأصلحوا وبينوا]

١٤٥١ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْهَرْثَمِيُّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مُقَاتِلَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ يَحْكِي عَنِ ابْنِ غَمْزَانَ الصوفي قال: تحضر هؤلاء الذين أحدثوا بدع فَبَيِّنْ لَهُمُ التَّوْبَةَ.

١٤٥٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ابْنُ لهيعة عَطَاءُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: إِلا الَّذِينَ تَابُوا يَعْنِي مِنَ الشِّرْكِ.

قَوْلُهُ: فَأُولَئِكَ أَتُوبُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَأَنَا التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ

١٤٥٣ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى، ثنا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ، قَالَ: إِنَّ أَوَّلَ شَيْءٍ كُتِبَ: أَنَا التَّوَّابُ أَتُوبُ عَلَى مَنْ تَابَ.

١٤٥٤ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ، قَوْلُهُ: أَتُوبُ عَلَيْهِمْ، يَعْنِي: يَتَجَاوَزُ عَنْهُمْ.
