[The fifth interpretation]
73 - My father narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Muhammad al-Musnadi narrated to us, Ishaq ibn Idris narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn Ja'far ibn Mahmud ibn Salamah al-Ansari informed me, Ja'far ibn Mahmud informed me from his grandmother, Tuwaylah bint Aslam, who said: "I prayed the Dhuhr or 'Asr prayer in the mosque of Banu Harithah, and we faced the mosque of Iliya (Jerusalem) and performed two prostrations (rak'ahs). Then, someone came to us and informed us that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, had faced the Sacred House (Ka'bah). So the men moved to the place of the women, and the women moved to the place of the men, and we prayed the remaining two prostrations while facing the Sacred House." Ibrahim said: "Some men from Banu Harithah narrated to me that when the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, heard of that, he said: 'Those are a people who believed in the Unseen.'"
His saying: "And they establish prayer"
74 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, Abu Ghassan Muhammad ibn 'Amr Zunayj narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, who said: Regarding what Muhammad ibn Abi Muhammad, the freedman of Zayd ibn Thabit, narrated to me from 'Ikrimah or Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas: Allah, glorified and exalted is He and to Him belongs all praise, says: "And they establish prayer," meaning they establish the prayer by observing its obligatory requirements.
75 - Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Sabbah narrated to us, 'Abd al-Wahhab—meaning Ibn 'Ata'—al-Khaffaf narrated to us, from Sa'id, from Qatadah: "And they establish prayer." The establishment of prayer is maintaining its prescribed times, its ablution, its bowing (ruku'), and its prostration (sujud).
76 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl ibn Musa, Muhammad ibn 'Ali ibn al-Hasan ibn Shaqiq narrated to us, Abu Wahb Muhammad ibn Muzahim narrated to us, Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf narrated to us, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan, regarding His saying: "And they establish prayer": Its establishment is maintaining its prescribed times, performing the purification (wudu) for it thoroughly, completing its bowing and prostration, reciting the Qur'an within it, and the Tashahhud, and the prayer upon the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace—this is its establishment.
His saying: "And spend from what We have provided for them"

77 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, Abu Ghassan Muhammad ibn 'Amr Zunayj informed us, Salamah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq—who said: Regarding what Muhammad ibn Abi Muhammad, the freedman of Zayd ibn Thabit, narrated to me from 'Ikrimah or Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas: Allah, glorified is He and to Him belongs all praise, says: "And spend from what We have provided for them," meaning they pay the Zakat in anticipation of its reward."

وَالوجه الْخَامِسُ:
٧٣ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُسْنَدِيُّ، ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، أَخْبَرَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مَحْمُودِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ الأَنْصَارِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنِي جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مَحْمُودٍ عَنْ جَدَّتِهِ تُوَيْلَةَ ابْنَةِ أَسْلَمَ قَالَتْ: صَلَّيْتُ الظُّهْرَ أَوِ الْعَصْرَ فِي مَسْجِدِ بَنِي حَارِثَةَ فَاسْتَقْبَلْنَا مَسْجِدَ إِيلِيَا فَصَلَّيْنَا سَجْدَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ جَاءَنَا مَنْ يخْبِرُنَا أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدِ اسْتَقْبَلَ الْبَيْتَ الْحَرَامَ، فَتَحَوَّلَ الرِّجَالُ مَكَانَ النِّسَاءِ، وَالنِّسَاءُ مَكَانَ الرِّجَالِ، فَصَلَّيْنَا السَّجْدَتَيْنِ الباقيتين مستقبلي الْبَيْتِ الْحَرَامِ. قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ: فَحَدَّثَنِي رِجَالٌ مِنْ بَنِي حَارِثَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ- صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- حِينَ بَلَغَهُ ذَلِكَ قَالَ: أُولَئِكَ قَوْمٌ آمَنُوا بِالْغَيْبِ «١» .
قَوْلُهُ: وَيُقِيمُونَ الصَّلاةَ
٧٤ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، ثنا أَبُو غَسَّانَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو زُنَيْجٌ، ثنا سَلَمَةُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ فِيمَا حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي مُحَمَّدٌ مَوْلَى، زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ أَوْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: يَقُولُ اللَّهُ سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى وَبِحَمْدِهِ الَّذِينَ َيُقِيمُونَ الصَّلاةَ أَيْ يُقِيمُونَ الصَّلاةَ بِفَرْضِهَا.
٧٥ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ- يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَطَاءٍ- الْخَفَّافَ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ وَيُقِيمُونَ الصَّلاةَ وَإِقَامَةُ الصَّلاةِ: الْمُحَافَظَةُ عَلَى مَوَاقِيتِهَا وَوُضُوئِهَا وَرُكُوعِهَا وَسُجُودِهَا.
٧٦ - قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ مُوسَى، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ، ثنا أَبُو وَهْبٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُزَاحِمٍ، ثنا بُكَيْرُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ، عَنْ مُقَاتِلِ بْنِ حيان، قوله:
ويقيمون الصَّلاةَ وَإِقَامَتُهَا الْمُحَافَظَةُ عَلَى مَوَاقِيتِهَا، وَإِسْبَاغُ الطُّهُورِ فِيهَا، وَتَمَامُ رُكُوعِهَا وَسُجُودِهَا، وَتِلاوَةُ الْقُرْآنِ فِيهَا، وَالتَّشَهُّدِ وَالصَّلاةِ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ- صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- فَهَذَا إِقَامَتُهَا.
قَوْلُهُ: وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ يُنْفِقُونَ

٧٧ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَنْبَأَ أَبُو غَسَّانَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو زُنَيْجٌ، ثنا سَلَمَةُ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ- قَالَ: فِيمَا حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي مُحَمَّدٌ مَوْلَى زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ أَوْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: يَقُولُ اللَّهُ سُبْحَانَهُ وَبِحَمْدِهِ: وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ يُنْفِقُونَ يُؤْتَوْنَ الزَّكَاةَ احْتِسَابًا لَهَا.
