His saying: "The kindred"
1549 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, [Ibn] 'Abd Allah ibn Bukayr narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, regarding the saying of Allah: "The kindred" - meaning: his relatives.
His saying: "And the orphans"
1550 - Al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma'mar informed us, from Juwaybir, from al-Dahhak, from al-Nazzal, from 'Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, who said: "There is no orphanhood after puberty."
1551 - Muhammad ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Yazid al-Muqri narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from Isma'il—meaning: Ibn Umayyah—from Sa'id al-Maqburi, from Yazid ibn Hurmuz, who said: Najdah wrote to Ibn 'Abbas asking him about the orphan: when does his orphanhood end? He said: "Write, O Yazid: His orphanhood ends when maturity is perceived in him."
His saying: "And the needy"
1552 - Abu Ishaq al-Hamdani and Ahmad ibn Sinan narrated to us, they both said: Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "The needy [miskin] is not the one who goes around among the people, whom a morsel or two or a date or two turns away; rather, the needy is the self-restrained one who does not ask people for anything, and it is not perceived by others so that they might give him charity."
1553 - 'Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn 'Amr al-Ghazzi narrated to us, al-Firyabi narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from Ibrahim al-Hajari, from Abu al-Ahwas, from 'Abd Allah ibn Mas'ud, who said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "The needy is not the one who goes around among the people, whom a morsel or two turns away; rather, the needy is the one who does not find what suffices him, is ashamed to ask people, and is not perceived so that they might give him charity."
His saying: "And the wayfarer"
1554 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih—the scribe of al-Layth—narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: "The wayfarer" is the guest who arrives among the Muslims. It was reported from Sa'id ibn Jubayr and Qatadah similarly.
قوله: ذَوِي الْقُرْبَى
١٥٤٩ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: ذَوِي الْقُرْبَى يَعْنِي: قَرَابَتَهُ.
قوله: وَالْيَتَامَى
١٥٥٠ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ، أَنْبَأَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَنْبَأَ مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ جُوَيْبِرٍ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ، عَنِ النَّزَّالِ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: لَا يُتْمَ بَعْدَ الْحُلُمِ.
١٥٥١ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ المقري، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، يَعْنِي: ابْنَ أُمَيَّةَ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ هُرْمُزَ، قَالَ: كَتَبَ نَجْدَةُ إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ يَسْأَلُهُ عَنِ الْيَتِيمِ مَتَى يَنْقَضِي يُتْمُهُ؟ قَالَ: اكْتُبْ يَا يَزِيدُ: يَنْقَضِي يُتْمُهُ إِذَا أُونِسَ مِنْهُ الرُّشْدُ.
قوله: وَالْمَسَاكِينَ
١٥٥٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ، قَالا: ثنا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: لَيْسَ الْمِسْكِينُ بِالطَّوَّافِ وَلا بِالَّذِي تَرُدُّهُ اللُّقْمَةُ، وَاللُّقْمَتَانِ وَلا التَّمْرَةُ وَلا التَّمْرَتَانِ وَلَكِنَّ الْمِسْكِينَ، الْمُتَعَفِّفُ الَّذِي لَا يَسْأَلُ النَّاسَ شَيْئًا، وَلا يُفْطَنُ بِهِ فَيُتَصَدَّقُ عَلَيْهِ.
١٥٥٣ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْغَزِّيُّ، ثنا الْفِرْيَابِيُّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْهَجَرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي الأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: لَيْسَ الْمِسْكِينُ بِالطَّوَافِ الَّذِي تَرُدُّهُ اللُّقْمَةُ وَاللُّقْمَتَانِ، وَلَكِنَّ الْمِسْكِينَ الَّذِي لَا يَجِدُ مَا يُغْنِيهِ، وَيَسْتَحِي أَنْ يَسْأَلَ النَّاسَ، وَلا يُفْطَنُ لَهُ فَيُتَصَدَّقُ عَلَيْهِ.
قوله: وَابْنَ السَّبِيلِ
١٥٥٤ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ كَاتِبُ اللَّيْثِ، حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: ابْنُ السَّبِيلِ، هُوَ: الضَّيْفُ الَّذِي يَنْزِلُ بِالْمُسْلِمِينَ. وَرُوِيَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، وَقَتَادَةَ، نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.
