1605 - ‘Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam Abu Ja’far narrated to us, from al-Rabi’, from Abu al-‘Aliyah regarding His saying: "Bequest is for parents and relatives" - he said: The parents were abrogated, and they were joined to the people of inheritance, and the bequest remained for the relatives who do not inherit. It was reported from Sa’id ibn Jubayr, al-Hasan, al-Rabi’ ibn Anas, al-Dahhak, Muqatil ibn Hayyan, al-Zuhri, and Qatadah something similar to that.

His saying: "Binding upon the God-fearing"

1606 - Abu Zur’ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn Bukayr narrated to us, ‘Abd Allah ibn Lahi’ah narrated to us, ‘Ata’ ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa’id ibn Jubayr regarding the saying of Allah: "In fairness, binding upon the God-fearing" - he says: That bequest is a right/duty binding upon the God-fearing.

I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl ibn Musa, Muhammad ibn ‘Ali ibn al-Hasan ibn Shaqiq narrated to us, Abu Wahb informed us, Bukayr ibn Ma’ruf narrated to us, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan regarding His saying: "Binding upon the God-fearing" - meaning: the believers.

His saying: "Then whoever changes it after he has heard it"

1607 - Abu Zur’ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn Bukayr narrated to us, Ibn Lahi’ah narrated to me, ‘Ata’ ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa’id ibn Jubayr regarding the saying of Allah: "Then whoever changes it" - he says: Whoever changes the bequest of the deceased.

His saying: "After he has heard it"

And by the same chain from Sa’id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "After he has heard it" - meaning: after he heard it from the deceased, and he did not carry out his bequest, when he [the executor] was a just person.

1608 - al-Hasan ibn al-Rabi’ narrated to us, ‘Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma’mar informed us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "Then whoever changes it after he has heard it" - he said: Whoever changes the bequest after hearing it, he said: The sin is upon the one who changes it. It was reported from al-Hasan something similar to that.
