two matters, then look at the easier of them, for it is closer to the truth; indeed, Allah intended ease for this nation and did not intend hardship for them.
1660 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih the scribe of al-Layth narrated to us, Mu‘awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from ‘Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding His saying: "Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship," he said: "The ease is breaking the fast while traveling." It was narrated from al-Dahhak and ‘Umar ibn ‘Abd al-‘Aziz something similar.
The Second Aspect:
1661 - ‘Ammar ibn Khalid al-Wasiti narrated to us, Muhammad ibn al-Hasan al-Wasiti narrated to us, from ‘Umar ibn Shaybah al-Hudhali, from Umm al-Hakam bint Qari, who said: "I sent to Abu Hurayrah: 'How does a woman make up [the days of] Ramadan?' He replied: 'Separate them.' Then he said: 'Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship.'"
The Third Aspect:
1662 - Abu Sa‘id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Abu Khalid narrated to us, from Juwaybir, from al-Dahhak, regarding His saying: "Allah intends for you ease," he said: "The pregnant and nursing woman breaks the fast, as well as breaking the fast during travel."
The Fourth Aspect:
Yunis ibn Habib narrated to us, Abu Dawud narrated to us, Habib ibn Yazid narrated to us, he said: Jabir ibn Zayd was asked about prayer during fighting, and he said: "The man prays while riding or walking, whichever way he is facing, and that is from Allah's facilitation for His servants, that He intends ease for them and does not intend hardship for them."

١٦٦٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ، ثنا أَبُو خَالِدٍ، عَنْ جُوَيْبِرٍ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ، فِي قَوْلِهِ: يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ بِكُمُ الْيُسْرَ قَالَ: تُفْطِرُ الْحَامِلُ وَالْمُرْضِعُ، وَالإِفْطَارُ فِي السَّفَرِ.
الْوَجْهُ الرَّابِعُ:
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ، ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، ثنا حَبِيبُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، قَالَ: سُئِلَ جَابِرُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنِ الصَّلاةِ، عِنْدَ الْقِتَالِ، فَقَالَ: يُصَلِّي الرَّجُلُ رَاكِبًا وَمَاشِيًا حَيْثُ كَانَ وَجْهُهُ، وَذَلِكَ مِنْ تَيْسِيرِ اللَّهِ عَلَى عِبَادِهِ، أَنَّهُ يُرِيدُ بِهِمُ الْيُسْرَ وَلا يُرِيدُ بِهِمُ الْعُسْرَ.
